Pattaya’s Nightlife

The Walking Street is the center of Pattaya’s nightlife, with hundreds of bars, A-Go-Go clubs and dancings. Other areas are in Soi 7, Soi 8 and Soi Yamato, in Soi Praisanie (around the post office), along Pattaya’s 2nd Road and in Soi Buakhaow.

A new growing area is at the 3rd Pattaya Road, from North Pattaya Road to the South Pattaya Road as well as in Soi Chayaphoon and Soi Lengkee, both between Soi Buokaow and the 3rd Road.

Another large Beer Bar area is located in Soi 2, across BigC’s Shopping Center.

Beer Bars in Pattaya are mostly open air girlie bars (or Bar Beer, as the Thai’s call them). Some of the beer bars have life music. Beer bars not only serve beer, you can order anything from Cola to Whisky.

The girls in this bars talk (a little bit of ) english and like to play games (domino or 4-in-a-row). When you ‘pick-up’ a girl from a beer bar you have to pay a bar fine (usualy between 200 and 300 Baht). Another 500 to 1000 Baht you have to pay to the girl.

Go-Go Bars don’t have a cover charge, but the drinks are more expensive than at a beer bar. Avoid clubs with entrance fees!

Most Go-Go bars are more or less of the same construction:

A central stage surrounded by a bar or some seats with small tables.The walls are decorated mostly with mirrors, giving the girls a chance to watch themself. Some Go-Go bars offer some kind of sexy shows as well. All Go-Go bars use extensive sound and light equipments.

The girls dancing on the stage wear numbers. If you like one, tell the Mamasan (the head of the girls) your number of preference. She will guide the girl of your choice to your seat.

The bar fine in a Go-Go club is 500 to 1000 Baht. Add another 1000 to 3000 Baht for the girl.

Pattaya has a lot of Ladies working as Freelancers. You can meet them at Pattaya’s Beach Road, at Walking Street, at large Shopping Centers (Carrefour, BigC and Royal Garden Plaza are popular), at Disco Clubs and at Pattaya Beer Garden, Pattaya’s first real Freelancer Meeting Place. Pattaya Beer Garden doesn’t ask a Bar Fine and there are no Lady Drinks.

If you like one of the ladies, smile to her.
If she likes you too, she will approch you.
The Ladies usually take between 500 and 1000 Baht.

Pattaya has many Dancingfloors too! A lot of Freelancers are working at Dancings. If you like one of the ladies, smile to her. If she likes you too, she will approch you.

Dancings don’t ask for a Bar fine, but the ladies usually take between 1000 and 3000 Baht a night. Sometimes you can bargain.

Most of the girls working in Pattaya come from the north of Thailand or from Isan, but some are from Laos or from Cambodia.

They work in the bars because they are in need for the money to support their families and/or their children. In case of a divorce, most Thai men don’t pay for their children. Therefore many of the girls aren’t very happy with their life.

Try to make them laugh. Let them forget their worries for a while.
You will be surprised with the attention you will get!

Just because of their kind of work, it doesn’t mean they are less respectable then the rest of us!

If a girl says ‘NO’, she means ‘NO’ in most cases! Respect her decision. If you are a nice man and very well dressed you don’t will have any problems to meet another nice girl.

If you found a girl don’t flirt with an other one. Thai girls don’t like Butterfly’s!
